1st National NAMA Concept in Lebanon.

In parallel to Clean Development Mechanisms (CDM), Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) are a new instrument being developed under the international climate regime to provide opportunities for developing countries to access international finance, technology and capacity building support for strategies, policies and programmes that promote sustainable development and greenhouse gases (GHGs) reductions. In its efforts to catch the opportunities that NAMAs offer, the LCEC announceS that the first NAMA concept in Lebanon is being finalized with the support of the EU-funded MED-ENEC project and the reputable German company Ecofys. The “NAMA Concept for the Lebanese Construction Sector” will be submitted to the Lebanese Ministry of Environment, the national focal point for climate change in Lebanon
